Are you using RoboForm by any chance? It seems like many Nspr4.dll missing error messages popup due to this application. In the following post I’ll expand on that and provide you with several tips that’ll enable you to get rid of this error.
Netscape Portable Runtime (NSPR) – by Netscape Communications Corporation.
This module contains files that support non-GUI OS resource (threads, shared libraries etc.) and there are actually 5 independent publishers of this file: Netscape Communications Corporation, AOL, Sun Microsystems, and Mozilla Foundation. You can usually find this file under: C:\Program Files\ [application name].
Many users report that they encounter problems with this file when visiting specific WebPages or right after installing Google Chrome browser, or right after a computer restart. You’d usually get the following error: This application has failed to start because nspr4.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
Unfortunately for many users who were trying to reinstall both Chrome and Firefox, this didn’t solve the problem.
Causes to this error
There’s one common thing with the majority of people whom are experiencing this error: they all have RoboForm installed. It seems like certain RoboForm versions are causing this error to popup. Otherwise this is usually a registered file entry problem related to this dll file (I’ll later explain how you can easily verify that).
How to repair the Nspr4.dll missing error
(1) Change the following settings in your RoboForm installation
This works for many people who encounter this error and in order to save you the hassle of reinstalling RoboForm, do the following:
(1) Right click on RoboForm’s tray icon
(2) Select Options
(3) Click on Browser Integration
(4) Uncheck Mozilla Firefox

See if that fixes the problem.
If it didn’t…
(2) Upgrade to the latest RoboForm version
As far as I found out the latest version of RoboForm should have it fixed, simple download and install it.
If this didn’t fix the problem either…
